The writing process is different for everyone. some people write every day to a strict timetable or during a window when they know they will have some peace. Whatever works for you is the right way, and no one can tell you any different. For me, the most important thing is to have a separate screen with my current chapter open on it at all times. Opening the document, keeping the structure of the section you are working on present in your mind every day is half the battle. As long as your research is done, then chapters begin to organise themselves, tunnelling into the material you have collected in your mind and in folders and notebooks, working away in the night, rather like an ant farm.
